About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector to join a high-performing team within a leading aerospace manufacturing environment. Working on the night shift, you'll play a critical role in ensuring precision, compliance, and right-first-time quality across complex aerospace components.
This is an ideal role for an inspector who thrives in a structured, quality-driven environment and takes pride in delivering excellence where precision truly matters.
What You'll Be Doing- Carrying out detailed quality and inspection checks at all stages of the manufacturing process
- Completing First Article Inspections (FAI) and producing accurate, compliant inspection reports
- Supporting a Right-First-Time culture by identifying, analysing, and resolving quality issues
- Assisting with root cause analysis, 5 Whys investigations, and SPC data collection
- Supporting and participating in internal audits to ISO 9001 and ISO 5001 standards
- Managing the calibration and upkeep of inspection tools and measuring equipment
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as 8D and Kaizen
- Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive quality and efficiency
What We're Looking ForEssential Experience & Skills
- Background in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Confident using precision measuring equipment including:
- Verniers
- Micrometers
- Bore micrometers
- Height gauges
- DTIs
- Proven experience producing FAIRs
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and surface treatment processes
- Experience working to ISO 9001 / ISO 5001 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently
Desirable (but not essential)
- CMM experience (training available)
- Exposure to FMEA, APQP, PPAP, or NADCAP
- Knowledge of chemical and special processes
- Internal auditing experience
