About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector to join a high-performing team within a leading aerospace manufacturing environment. Working on the night shift, you'll play a critical role in ensuring precision, compliance, and right-first-time quality across complex aerospace components.

This is an ideal role for an inspector who thrives in a structured, quality-driven environment and takes pride in delivering excellence where precision truly matters.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out detailed quality and inspection checks at all stages of the manufacturing process
  • Completing First Article Inspections (FAI) and producing accurate, compliant inspection reports
  • Supporting a Right-First-Time culture by identifying, analysing, and resolving quality issues
  • Assisting with root cause analysis, 5 Whys investigations, and SPC data collection
  • Supporting and participating in internal audits to ISO 9001 and ISO 5001 standards
  • Managing the calibration and upkeep of inspection tools and measuring equipment
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as 8D and Kaizen
  • Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive quality and efficiency
What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Background in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Confident using precision measuring equipment including:
  • Verniers
  • Micrometers
  • Bore micrometers
  • Height gauges
  • DTIs
  • Proven experience producing FAIRs
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and surface treatment processes
  • Experience working to ISO 9001 / ISO 5001 standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently

Desirable (but not essential)

  • CMM experience (training available)
  • Exposure to FMEA, APQP, PPAP, or NADCAP
  • Knowledge of chemical and special processes
  • Internal auditing experience
