Science Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Immediate Start 5 Days per Week
Location: Hackney

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant with a Science specialism to join a thriving secondary school in the Hackney area. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching and would like to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students in Science lessons (KS3 & KS4)

• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources and classroom organisation

• Provide targeted support to students with SEND, EAL or lower prior attainment

• Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

• Contribute to the wider life of the school

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a degree in a Science subject (or related field)

• Has a genuine interest in education and working with young people

• Is patient, reliable, proactive and enthusiastic

• Has strong communication skills

• Is considering teacher training in the future (desirable but not essential)

• Immediate start

• Full-time position (Monday to Friday)

• Ongoing support and training from experienced teachers

• Valuable classroom experience in a well-run school

• Opportunity to progress into teacher training
