SF Recruitment is working with an established and highly regarded public sector organisation. They are seeking a Senior Finance Officer. Reporting to a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will provide high-quality financial support to academic areas, professional service departments, and projects, enabling senior leaders to make informed operational and strategic decisions.
Based in Birmingham (hybrid working).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective financial and accounting support to a range of departments and project areas.
- Partner with budget holders and senior leaders to provide guidance on financial planning, forecasting, and performance against budget.
- Prepare and present high-quality management information and financial reports within agreed timescales.
- Oversee audit activity and ensure robust financial controls, accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Contribute to payroll-related processes, statutory reporting, and the financial management of projects.
- Review existing processes and implement improvements to drive efficiency, consistency, and transparency.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support funding, reporting, and compliance requirements.
