Act as the Safety Officer for the workshop, writing and adhering to risk assessments and training designers on the correct use of machinery. What you'll bring Experience in a professional prototyping lab, model shop, or R&D environment (ID consultancy experience is a major plus). CAD/CAM: Proficiency in SolidWorks, or Rhino for preparing files for 3D printing or milling paths. Electronics: Strong soldering skills and a solid understanding of basic circuit design and power management. Problem Solving: A "hacker" mindset-the ability to find creative ways to make a prototype work within the physical constraints the design. Craftsmanship: An obsessive eye for detail, particularly regarding tolerances, fit-and-finish, and material realism.
