Role Overview

The Field-Based Wiring Technician will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and installation of electrical control systems and associated equipment. This role requires a minimum of three years' industry experience and the ability to confidently interpret electrical schematic drawings and technical documentation.

Working as part of a wider assembly and test team, the successful candidate will ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timescales and to company quality standards. When required, you may be asked to support or lead activities within a designated production area, ensuring compliance with procedures and accurate completion of documentation.

This position requires flexibility in working hours and travel to site locations in order to meet project deadlines and customer requirements. A proactive, solution-focused mindset is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical wiring and assembly in accordance with company standards and procedures

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and technical specifications

  • Assemble and wire electrical components of varying size and complexity

  • Undertake mechanical assembly of enclosures, cubicles, and supporting frameworks

  • Complete bench assembly of electrical sub-assemblies

  • Maintain accurate assembly records to ensure full traceability of serialised components

  • Take ownership of the quality of your work, including rectifying any issues identified during inspection or testing

  • Update electronic issue logs and liaise directly with design engineers to resolve technical queries

  • Support team activities and when required, assist in coordinating work within a production or installation area

  • Demonstrate flexibility to support project demands and deadlines


Skills & Experience

  • Minimum three years' experience in electrical wiring or control panel assembly

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

  • Experience working within industrial or regulated environments is desirable

  • Eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
