Senior Claims Handler - Specialty Casualty & Property

Location: London or Chelmsford (with flexibility to travel)

Salary: £70,000 per annum

An established Specialty Casualty & Property Claims team is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Claims Handler to join a high-performing, collaborative environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a claims professional who thrives on delivering outstanding client service, enjoys managing complex claims end-to-end, and wants to make a genuine impact on claim outcomes.

The Role

Working closely with clients and brokers, you will provide high-quality, professional claims advice and manage claims from initial notification through to final resolution. You will play a key role in guiding clients through what can be a challenging and stressful time, ensuring expectations are managed and outcomes are optimised.

You'll be part of a team of like-minded professionals who are committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering best-in-class service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Property & Casualty claims from start to settlement, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Advise and regularly update clients on claim progress, key developments, and next steps
  • Liaise with insurers, brokers, solicitors, and other advisors throughout the claims process
  • Provide clear, technically sound advice to clients at every stage of the claim
  • Balance client expectations with empathy, professionalism, and commercial awareness
  • Maintain accurate claims records and ensure systems are fully up to date
  • Produce claims data and statistics in line with agreed service level agreements
  • Continually develop and maintain technical knowledge of insurance, legislation, and market practice

About You

  • Proven experience handling Casualty claims within the London Market
  • Strong background in insurance with a specialist claims handling focus
  • Cert CII or Dip CII qualification desirable (or working towards)
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, analytical, and client-focused
  • Able to identify potential risks and escalate appropriately, following internal processes
  • Eligible to work in the UK
