Accounts Payable Manager
up to 60k
London (NW1) with hybrid working
Our client, a well-established London law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join its finance team. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function and ensuring efficient, compliant and accurate financial operations within a regulated legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals and payment runs
- Manage supplier accounts, reconciliations and creditor forecasting
- Review daily and monthly online banking payment runs
- Handle supplier queries and maintain the AP inbox
- Liaise closely with billing and cashiering teams
- Supervise and support Accounts Payable Clerks
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and the SRA Accounts Rules
- Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Produce accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Proven accounts payable experience within a law firm (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of VAT and SRA Accounts Rules
- Experience managing or supervising junior team members
- Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP)
- Highly organised, analytical and detail-oriented
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
