As an Area Sales Manager, you will need to have/be:
- Demonstrable experience in professional relationship management with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert sales opportunities.
- Proven track record in account management and achieving sales targets.
- Technical understanding of electrically installed or engineered products.
- Confident presenter, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to build credibility within trade environments and deliver detailed, solution-led consultations.
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for results.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Articulate, pragmatic and confident in decision-making.
- Flexible and willing to travel across the designated territory as required.
- Understanding of commercial tender processes and contractual negotiations.
- Experience managing customer service issues and complaint resolution processes.
- Confident user of IT systems and CRM platforms.

Role of Area Sales Manager:
- Develop and grow relationships with both existing and prospective clients across the territory.
- Identify customer needs and deliver tailored, specification led solutions.
- Take full ownership of KPI performance, monitoring and reporting against targets.
- Build, manage and continuously develop a robust sales opportunity pipeline.
- Present accurate sales forecasts, performance data and commitments at monthly review meetings.
- Produce detailed monthly sales reports and territory updates.
- Gather and communicate market and product feedback to support ongoing innovation.
- Promote and uphold the company brand, vision and quality standards at all times.
- Drive new customer acquisition, identifying additional routes to market for new product lines.
- Plan and conduct face to face meetings with clients, prospects and industry professionals.
- Strengthen and expand relationships within the existing customer base.
- Act as a brand ambassador, championing the company's products and solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, product training and after sales support where required.
- Represent the business at trade shows, seminars and industry events to increase brand awareness.
- Collaborate closely with internal sales support, customer service and marketing teams.
- Develop comprehensive sales and business plans aligned to company objectives.
- Support and respond to commercial tenders and contractual submissions.
- Maintain accurate client records and reporting through effective use of CRM systems.
