Job Description

Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking a Commercial Solicitor to join a highly regarded and well established law firm based in the City of London. This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years PQE who is looking to lead on high volume commercial contract work within a professional and commercially focused environment. The role offers a salary of £70,000 to £100,000 depending on experience, hybrid working, a performance bonus of up to 20%, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and two days at Christmas.

The Commercial Solicitor in the City of London will act as a key legal advisor across a broad range of commercial contract matters and will work closely with senior stakeholders. The firm is recognised for its pragmatic advice, strong governance standards, and collaborative culture.

Role Responsibilities

The Commercial Solicitor will be based in the City of London and will be responsible for managing a busy commercial contracts caseload. The day to day responsibilities within this role include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
  • Advising on share purchase agreements and business acquisitions and disposals
  • Acting as the primary legal point of contact for contract related queries
  • Advising on contractual risk, liability, indemnities, and dispute resolution provisions
  • Advising on data protection, confidentiality, and intellectual property provisions
  • Supporting negotiations while balancing legal and commercial priorities
  • Developing contract templates and internal guidance
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Mentoring junior colleagues

Person Specification

The successful Commercial Solicitor in the City of London will be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 4 years PQE and strong contracts focused experience. In addition, you will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • A pragmatic and commercially focused approach
  • The ability to explain legal risk clearly to non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage a high volume caseload effectively
