Legal Assistant - Family

Salary: 24,000 - 30,000
Location: Harrogate
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm

Full-time, Permanent Position

This role is central to supporting our client's Fee Earners within the Family Law department, ensuring that all work aligns with our Client and Colleague Charters and reflects their commitment to care, excellence, and integrity. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support, ensuring a seamless and efficient service is delivered to clients during what are often sensitive and emotional times.

The Key Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant - Family:
Manage client matters accurately and promptly using the Proclaim case management system, in line with standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare, organise, and archive legal files and supporting documentation
Manage diaries for Fee Earners, including scheduling client appointments and meetings
Prepare client correspondence using audio typing, word processing, or digital dictation
Handle client and third party telephone enquiries professionally, efficiently, and in line with the Client Charter
Take ownership of incoming emails, post, photocopying, and general administrative tasks
Prepare court documentation, including e bundles
Use the online divorce portal to accurately upload required documents
Prepare client bills and manage account ledgers
Provide support to other assistants and the management team as required

The Key Requirements of the Legal Assistant - Family:
Verbal communication: Ability to listen and respond to clients and colleagues in a professional, approachable, and respectful manner
Written communication: Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate written work that upholds the firm's professional image
Organisational ability: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and use resources efficiently
Strong IT proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Office and the Proclaim case management system
Teamwork: Ability to work respectfully and supportively with colleagues and contribute to a positive working atmosphere
