R&T MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - 46 PER HOUR - FILTON, UK - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

A leading aerospace engineering organisation is seeking an R&T Manufacturing Engineer to support the industrial preparation and build of next-generation aircraft wing technology demonstrators.

The role sits within the Industrial Architecture / Manufacturing Engineering function and focuses on integrating manufacturing requirements across design, tooling, and production teams to enable the successful assembly of advanced structural demonstrators.

This position acts as a Manufacturing Engineering Integrator, ensuring alignment between engineering design, production planning, tooling development, and supply chain partners.

The successful candidate will work at the interface between design engineering and manufacturing operations, ensuring that demonstrator builds can be delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with programme schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage industrialisation plans for wing research and technology demonstrator projects.
  • Assess the manufacturing impact of engineering design changes, including implications for cost, schedule, and production feasibility.
  • Work closely with production teams to support scheduling, operational planning, and resource coordination.
  • Collaborate with tooling and jig design teams to ensure manufacturing fixtures and tooling solutions are delivered in line with build requirements.
  • Liaise with external tooling and component suppliers to ensure delivery milestones are met and changes are effectively managed.
  • Generate and validate manufacturing capability documentation to support demonstrator build readiness.
  • Manage the design-to-manufacturing interface, ensuring Condition of Supply agreements are defined and validated.
  • Support the development and management of delivery specifications, ensuring quality assurance requirements are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Work collaboratively across the manufacturing engineering organisation to maintain schedule alignment and effective information flow across teams.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing engineering or production environment, ideally within aerospace or complex engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of aerospace structures, particularly aircraft wing components and associated manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience using CAD tools, ideally CATIA V5.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information across multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to work autonomously and act as a technical interface between design engineering, production, and suppliers.
  • Competence using standard office productivity tools and digital collaboration platforms.
  • A collaborative mindset and strong team working approach.
