You will provide a telephone advice service to police officers, speak to individuals who are with the police and distressed and consider the best way to support the individual at that particular time. The aim of the service is to avoid detaining an individual under S136 if an alternative service would provide a less restrictive option. You will be supported in your decision making by Band 7 clinicians who are available 24hrs. You will liaise with clinicians in the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment team, Community Mental Health Team, Single Point of Access team, Community Mental Health Older Adults team, Safe Haven team and Acute hospitals as well as the Police and will also be supported by a Band 4 Senior Support Worker who will manage the patient flow through the Places of Safety and support the phone lines. You will liaise with the Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMPH) service.
