As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function, leading a team and overseeing the day to day processing of high volume supplier invoices and payments.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end to end purchase to pay process
  • Overseeing invoice approvals, reconciliations, and supplier payments
  • Leading and developing the AP team
  • Managing supplier relationships and resolving queries efficiently
  • Delivering month end AP close, accruals, and reporting
  • Strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with audit requirements
  • Driving process improvements and supporting automation initiatives
  • Partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, and Operations
  • Supporting cashflow forecasting and contributing to financial planning

What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong experience in an AP Manager or Senior AP Team Lead role
  • Solid understanding of purchase to pay processes, UK GAAP, and financial controls
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team in a fast paced environment
  • Confidence handling large invoice volumes with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience improving AP processes and implementing system or workflow enhancements
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with modern ERP systems
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or regulated environments is beneficial but not essential.
