Job Description

If you're an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer looking to build your career within a well-established UK business, this is your opportunity to join a respected manufacturer in the Hampshire area. You'll be part of an established design engineering team, gaining hands-on exposure to develop complex systems including concept and development design, including requirement analysis and implementation and installation.

You need to be passionate about developing innovative products in a fast-moving team environment, be an excellent communicator and committed to producing quality designs. This role is on site 5 days per week and is paying an annual salary of 32,000.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing mechanisms and housings for various electro-optical systems
  • Collaborating with the product design and engineering teams on product discovery
  • Managing and maintaining up-to-date CAD files, assemblies and technical drawings
  • Fault-finding and problem-solving design issues
  • Develop complex systems including requirement analysis.

Qualifications and Experience required for this Mechanical Design Engineer role:

  • Degree Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • A graduate or someone with 1-2 years' design experience
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autocad.
  • Confident and effective communication skills
  • Numerate, computer literate and highly detail-focused
  • Positive, proactive and forward-thinking mindset
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Optical Design, FEA, FDA experience would be beneficial.
  • Eligible for UK security clearance (due to the nature of the business)
