Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Contract Type: Temporary (12 months with potential extension)
Hourly Rate: 13.53
Working Pattern: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

About the Role:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that products are tested to the highest quality and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining manufacturing and testing equipment
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Accurately recording work progress and managing inventory transactions using ERP systems
  • Completing production records and worksheets in real-time as per the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Collaborating with your team to support right-first-time manufacturing and on-time delivery

What You Bring:
To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A scientific degree or relevant professional laboratory experience (1 year preferred)
  • Computer literacy (Word/Excel)
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • A positive attitude and a personable approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH)
  • Knowledge of Quality System Requirements, such as ISO 13485
  • Previous laboratory experience in a cGMP environment is a plus
