We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Training Lead - Maritime Intelligence to lead a team of trainers and subject matter experts to develop and deliver high quality training that enables our customers to integrate intelligence processes into maritime operations, decision making and command structures. The Training Lead - Maritime Intelligence will ensure that all training aligns with operational requirements, doctrine and best practices in maritime intelligence-led operations
Please note - the role requires international travel in support of our customer training programmes (sometimes with noticeably short notice)
SRT runs a hybrid/remote working model, therefore, the role of Training Lead - Maritime Intelligence is commutable from all across the UK.
Key Responsibilities - Training Lead - Maritime Intelligence (not exhaustive):
Training Leadership and Delivery
- Lead and manage a small team of trainers responsible for delivering maritime intelligence and intelligence-led operations training
- Deliver instructor-led training, workshops, and scenario-based exercises to operational personnel, coast guard and leadership teams
- Ensure training programmes effectively support the customer's transition to an Intelligence-Led Operations (ILO) doctrine
Course Design and Development
- Design and develop training curricula covering:
- Maritime intelligence fundamentals
- Intelligence cycle and analytical methods and Intelligence-led operational planning
- Create realistic maritime operational scenarios and exercises that reinforce ILO principles
Customer Engagement
- Work closely with customer leadership, operational units, and intelligence teams to understand training needs and operational context, along with supporting organisational change as customers adopt intelligence-led operational frameworks
- Deliver briefings and demonstrations to senior stakeholders on the value and application of intelligence-led operations
Team Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for the training team
- Coordinate trainer schedules and ensure effective delivery across multiple training events
Requirements - Training Lead - Maritime Intelligence (not exhaustive):
- Degree in intelligence studies, security studies, maritime studies, or a related field is highly desirable
- Significant experience in military, intelligence, maritime intelligence, maritime security, or naval/coast guard operations
- Experience delivering professional training or instruction, preferably in operational or intelligence environments along with leading small teams and coordinatingtraining programmes
- Demonstrated understanding of the intelligence cycle and intelligence-led operations
- Experience working with maritime domain awareness systems, intelligence platforms, or operational command systems
- Ability to work in multinational and multi-agency environments
- Security clearance eligibility may be required depending on customer programmes
