SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary - Tameside

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a mainstream primary school in Tameside, starting after Easter on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with additional needs in an inclusive and nurturing school environment.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • Help create a positive and supportive classroom environment

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs)

  • Experience within a primary school setting is desirable

  • Patient, nurturing, and able to build strong relationships with pupils

  • Confident supporting behaviour and promoting engagement

  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to long-term work
