Role Purpose
Responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial insight to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial integrity.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary on performance.
- Support cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and month-end close.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Partner with operational teams and budget holders.
- Support statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and financial regulations.
- Maintain and improve financial controls and processes.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Support financial systems and process development.
- Supervise and support junior finance team members.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders.
Person Specification
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Experience in a finance role within an SME.
- Strong experience in management accounting and reporting.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
- Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Experience in multi-entity or group environments.
- Previous team management or mentoring experience.
- Exposure to business partnering.
- Experience improving financial processes or systems.
