Finance Assistant

Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid Working)
Hours: Full Time Permanent
Salary: Competitive

Our client is seeking Finance Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role provides a mix of purchase ledger, credit control, and general finance administration duties.

Key Responsibilities of a Finance Assistant:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices and input data into accounting systems.

  • Support administration of job costing and finance systems.

  • Raise sales invoices and maintain accurate records.

  • Assist with credit control, including chasing outstanding payments.

  • Review and process staff expenses.

  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations.

  • Manage shared finance inbox and respond to queries.

  • Support general finance administration tasks.

Key Skills of a Finance Assistant:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good organisational and time-management skills.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive, reliable, and approachable attitude.

  • Basic understanding of finance processes is beneficial.

  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g. Sage) is advantageous.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
