A forward-thinking building consultancy is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to join their specialist team.

This Graduate Fire Engineer role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, sustainable building design while developing technical expertise within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The Graduate Fire Engineer's Role

The Graduate Fire Engineer will support the delivery of fire engineering solutions from early design through to project completion. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with fire strategy development for a variety of building types
  • Supporting CFD modelling, smoke movement analysis, and evacuation modelling
  • Producing calculations, sketches, diagrams, and fire strategy reports
  • Working closely with architects, structural engineers, and wider design teams
  • Identifying potential fire safety challenges and supporting mitigation strategies
  • Assisting in the review of designs against UK Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Participating in design meetings and workshops alongside senior engineers
  • Using engineering software and digital tools to support technical delivery
  • Contributing to data collection, analysis, and documentation for projects
  • Delivering tasks in line with agreed deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations

The Graduate Fire Engineer

The ideal Graduate Fire Engineer will be motivated to build a long-term career within fire engineering and demonstrate strong technical foundations.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in Fire Engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering)
  • A Master's degree in Fire Engineering or similar is advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt within a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine interest in fire engineering and the built environment
