We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cleaning Team Leader / Supervisor to oversee and support a team of cleaning staff. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage day-to-day cleaning operations efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities across all designated areas.
  • Lead by example with hands-on cleaning duties as required.
  • Ensure high cleaning standards are consistently achieved and maintained.
  • Conduct regular cleaning audits and site inspections; record and report findings.
  • Manage staff rotas, timekeeping, and attendance.
  • Provide training and support to cleaning team members on procedures and use of cleaning machinery.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure all cleaning machinery is used, maintained, and stored safely.
  • Assist with onboarding of new staff and performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with company health & safety policies and COSHH regulations.
  • Liaise with the Facilities / Cleaning Manager regarding operational issues, staffing, and improvements.
  • You will be expected to carry out around 5/6 hours of cleaning yourself also

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a cleaning supervisory or team leader role (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of cleaning machinery and cleaning techniques.
  • Experience conducting cleaning audits and maintaining documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
  • Good IT and admin skills (basic MS Office or similar).
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and COSHH regulations.
