Container Traffic Operator

Due to continued success, our client is currently recruiting for a commercially aware Container Traffic Operator to join their thriving team based in Southampton. Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar Container Traffic Operating role, including planning and routing HGV's
• Sound knowledge of driver's hours regulations, transportation regulations and safety standards
• Knowledge of UK container port VBS systems, including Destin8
• IT skills, including the use of Microsoft packages and role related software, preferably TOPS
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment
• Problem solving and critical thinking abilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Routing an allocation of vehicles in the most efficient way
• Planning deliveries to ensure they are completed on time, maintaining customer satisfaction while maximising revenue
• Managing an allocation of drivers
• Ensuring drivers operate within their legal working hours
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with drivers and customers
• Ensuring planning accommodates all required fleet maintenance
