Design Managers

Our client, a specialist in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Manager with expertise in civil engineering to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with remote working. This is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension, operating inside IR35.

• Managing the design process for wastewater infrastructure projects, including combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and pipelines
• Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring project requirements are met efficiently and effectively
• Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Overseeing the preparation and delivery of technical documentation and design packages
• Ensuring project timelines and budgets are adhered to throughout the design phase
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and design teams
• Collaborating with clients to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives

• Significant experience in civil engineering, particularly within the water sector
• Proven ability to manage complex design projects from concept to completion
• Strong knowledge of wastewater infrastructure, including CSOs and pipelines
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering
