Your new company & role:

An established civil engineering contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This could be a qualified Quantity Surveyor with a few years post-graduate experience, or an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor keen to progress.

This is an excellent opportunity and time to join an expanding business who can offer real career progression opportunities.

The successful candidate could be expected to fulfil the following duties:

• Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements maximising profit
• Attending, contributing to, and minuting Internal Team Meetings
• Keeping master files of correspondence on contract
• Preparing Interim Valuations with Senior Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment.
• Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations
• Valuing variations
• Pricing
• Reporting to Senior Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons
• Preparing Surveying Reports

The successful candidate will possess:

• BSc or HND Quantity Surveying
• Relevant industry experience
• Good analytical & problem-solving skills
• A methodical approach
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in relevant computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
• Applicants MUST reside within commuting distance of the advertised location to be considered.
