Director of Finance

Evervault builds encryption and data security infrastructure for developers. APIs and primitives for tokenizing, encrypting, and processing sensitive data at scale, currently focused on powering the payments stack for companies like Rippling, Ramp, and Sorare.

Team: Reporting to the CEO

We're a 30-person company scaling rapidly with a usage-based revenue model. We need someone to own finance end-to-end.

You will be taking ownership of a function from the ground up - we have reached a scale where we need strong stewardship of this critical function. You'll be the person who makes sure the numbers are clean, the forecasts are credible, and the leadership team has the financial clarity to make good decisions fast. You'll work closely with the leadership team, not in a back office.

We have existing accounting infrastructure in place, but it needs a proper owner who can run the day-to-day while also thinking strategically about how we scale.

What You'll Do

Accounting & Financial Control

• Own management accounts, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Manage AP and AR
• Ensure tax compliance across USA, UK and Ireland
• Own relationships with external accountants and auditors

FP&A & Budgeting

• Build and own the company budget with regular reforecasting
• Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions
• Track and report on SaaS and usage-based metrics: ARR, NRR, gross margin, CAC, LTV, revenue per transaction
• Prepare board packs and investor reporting

Strategic Finance

• Support the leadership team on resource allocation, hiring plans, and go-to-market investment
• Support fundraising preparation when the time comes
• Provide commercial analysis on pricing, customer economics, and unit economics

Operations

• Manage payroll coordination across USA, UK and Ireland
• Handle procurement and vendor management
• Jump in wherever else you are needed!

Qualified and experienced. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified. 8+ years of progressive finance experience.

SaaS native. You've worked in SaaS startups before, ideally usage-based models. You understand recurring revenue, cohort analysis, and why gross margin matters more than top-line growth.

Hands-on. You're comfortable running month-end close on Monday and preparing board materials on Friday. No task is beneath you.

Commercially sharp. You don't just report the numbers, you interrogate them. You're not afraid to challenge when the numbers don't add up.

Startup-wired. You thrive in ambiguity. You build systems where none exist. You're energized by shaping a finance function, not inheriting one.

Ideal Background

1. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
2. 8+ years in finance, with meaningful time in VC-backed SaaS startups
3. Experience as a sole or first finance hire in a scaling business
4. Strong financial modelling skills
5. Familiarity with usage-based pricing models preferred
6. Experience with multi-entity structures USA, UK and Ireland
