Assist in the preparation of the fixed assets register and general ledger entries to ensure the accounting for all new properties is correctly recorded and componentised in the fixed asset register including related grant. 2. Prepare transaction files for upload into sequel including all GL transactions relating to housing cost and grant. 3. Liaise productively with budget holders to analyse results & consider actions to deliver effective budgetary control. 4. Prepare the accounting entries information for property sales and cost of sales. 5. Check intercompany recharges between DevCo, Plus and Trust and make appropriate transfers. 6. Provide information to the Operations team supporting the preparation on the monthly management accounts outlining performance and 7. Prepare monthly journals to post depreciation, amortisation and disposal entries onto the ledger. 8. Assist in the preparation of quarterly security trustee returns, ensuring consistency with the Assets and Liabilities Register. 9. Assist in the preparation of the property disposal schedule ensuring all properties and associated grant is correctly disposed of in the fixed asset register. 10. Support the Treasury Accountant in the recording and allocation of bank receipts and payments in a timely and appropriate manner. Match transactions to bank statements, updating cashbooks as appropriate. 11. Assist with the monthly Bank reconciliation and follow up any queries to resolve any unreconciled items. 12. Reporting directly to the Senior Development Accountant the role will assist in the monitoring of the Development programme and its impact on the cashflow. Assist in the operation of the Treasury Management function and support the general accounting functions of the Investment Team. You will also have - Proven experience in a general finance operation. - Accounts and general ledger skills and be able to undertake routine accountancy work with the minimum of supervision - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Strong excel skills, with a knowledge of a range of functions and their application. Your main responsibilities would include: 1. Assist in the preparation of the fixed assets register and general ledger entries to ensure the accounting for all new properties is correctly recorded and componentised in the fixed asset register including related grant. 2. Prepare transaction files for upload into sequel including all GL transactions relating to housing cost and grant. 3. Liaise productively with budget holders to analyse results & consider actions to deliver effective budgetary control. 4. Prepare the accounting entries information for property sales and cost of sales. 5. Check intercompany recharges between DevCo, Plus and Trust and make appropriate transfers. 6. Provide information to the Operations team supporting the preparation on the monthly management accounts outlining performance and 7. Prepare monthly journals to post depreciation, amortisation and disposal entries onto the ledger. 8. Assist in the preparation of quarterly security trustee returns, ensuring consistency with the Assets and Liabilities Register. 9. Assist in the preparation of the property disposal schedule ensuring all properties and associated grant is correctly disposed of in the fixed asset register. 10. Support the Treasury Accountant in the recording and allocation of bank receipts and payments in a timely and appropriate manner. Match transactions to bank statements, updating cashbooks as appropriate. 11. Assist with the monthly Bank reconciliation and follow up any queries to resolve any unreconciled items. 12. Transactional Accounting Manager Salary: £35,437 per annum Contract: Permanent Work Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compressed working considered. Location: Based at WWT Slimbridge, with an option for hybrid working (with the requirement to spend 2-3 days a week on site) + some travel to WWT sites. About The Role Do you have a strong focus on improving processes? Do you thrive on developing systems and people? WWT is seeking an experienced manager to lead, coach and support the transactional accounting team. This role is key to shaping Accounts Payable and Receivable operations as WWT moves its financial systems to the cloud. The role will partner with managers across WWT to understand and comply with financial procedures as well as deliver KPI dashboards. This role will also ensure: the accurate weekly recording of income from tills; gift aid is claimed each month; accurate reconciliations; tight controls; and a smooth month-end. This role supports WWT's Thrive ambition - to become a more thriving, sustainable and effective organisation as we enhance our financial processes and controls across WWT. About You You will be an experienced accounting professional with strong system and technical skills. You will be AAT qualified or qualified by experience. You will need: excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, holding yourself and others to agreed timetables; experience with AP automation and P2P systems; the ability to train and coach colleagues both within Finance and across WWT.
