What you'll do: As Vice President Liquidity Risk Management at MUFG, you will play an integral role in safeguarding the financial stability of both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating across departments to identify emerging risks associated with new business activities or products. You will be instrumental in reviewing first line functions, establishing effective risk frameworks, delivering insightful management information, and maintaining high standards of report quality. Your proactive engagement with compliance initiatives ensures regulatory requirements are met consistently. You will monitor funding metrics for MUS(EMEA), challenge underlying assumptions in liquidity calculations, participate in annual contingency funding plan tests, review policies owned by first line functions, approve liquidity risk appetites including limits, oversee daily monitoring of treasury-produced metrics for both entities, manage stress-testing processes for MUFG London Branch, escalate vulnerabilities as needed, and contribute to annual testing procedures. Success in this role requires you to be dependable, detail-oriented, collaborative, knowledgeable about industry regulations, sensitive to organisational diversity, responsive to evolving business needs, and committed to supporting the wider team network. Collaborate closely with Treasury, Front Office, and support departments to establish new business activities and products while ensuring key risk issues are highlighted and addressed during trade approval processes. Provide review and constructive challenge to first line functions in accordance with second line control responsibilities, maintaining oversight of risk management practices. Ensure robust limits and risk frameworks are established in alignment with the firm's overall risk appetite; manage risk positions within these limits and escalate breaches appropriately. Deliver accurate management information to facilitate informed business decisions by senior stakeholders across both entities. Maintain oversight over the quality of risk information produced by reporting teams, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all reports. Engage proactively with relevant compliance and control processes such as Operational Risk and Internal Audits to uphold regulatory standards. Act as a stakeholder in risk projects, ensuring business and functional needs are reflected in project outcomes. Stay abreast of all local and overseas regulatory liquidity requirements; assist with ongoing compliance through active engagement with other areas of the bank. Monitor internal and external funding and liquidity metrics for MUS(EMEA), ensuring they remain within risk appetite; explain movements and escalate breaches promptly to senior management or regulators. Review assumptions applied in liquidity metric calculations (including MCO, LCR, NSFR, ALMM) and provide challenge where necessary. What you bring: To excel as Vice President Liquidity Risk Management at MUFG you will bring substantial experience from banking or finance advisory environments where you have managed liquidity risks across multiple product lines. Your deep understanding of corporate banking structures enables you to assess funding mechanisms critically while documenting comprehensive frameworks that guide decision-making throughout the organisation. Familiarity with regulatory processes such as ILAAP or ICAAP ensures you can navigate compliance requirements confidently. Your analytical capabilities extend beyond traditional methods thanks to your proficiency in SQL or Python-allowing you to interrogate large data sets efficiently. Communication is one of your strengths: you articulate complex concepts clearly whether presenting findings or collaborating across teams. Attention to detail underpins your approach when reviewing reports or challenging assumptions behind liquidity metrics. At least 7 years' experience in banking or finance advisory roles with proven exposure to liquidity risk management responsibilities. Detailed understanding of corporate banking and broker/dealer products with specific focus on funding mechanisms and liquidity risk drivers associated with these products. Ability to document complex risk management frameworks and processes clearly for cross-divisional teams. Knowledge of ILAAP or ICAAP processes as well as awareness of bank funding products and funds transfer pricing methodologies. Experience conducting stress testing exercises related to liquidity risk; familiarity with IRRBB is preferred but not essential. Working knowledge of SQL or Python is advantageous for analysing data sets; fluency in
