An established and expanding engineering consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with around 5 years' UK experience to join their Slough office. This is a great opportunity to step into a more design-focused role with increased responsibility and clear progression towards senior level.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering geotechnical solutions across a range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, taking ownership of projects from investigation through to design and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Planning, supervising, and interpreting ground investigations
- Developing ground models and providing geotechnical recommendations
- Undertaking design work including shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability
- Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative reports
- Carrying out geotechnical calculations in line with Eurocodes and UK standards
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Approximately 4-6 years' UK experience in a geotechnical engineering role
- Strong understanding of ground investigation and geotechnical design principles
- Experience with relevant design software (e.g. PLAXIS, GeoStudio or similar)
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
- Experience managing small to medium-sized projects
