Job Description

Join Herts Inclusive Theatre as a volunteer in Watford! Our Ignite Watford Youth Theatre group is held on Monday evenings.

Herts Inclusive Theatre provide theatre groups for children, teens and adults across Hertfordshire. These groups are designed to be inclusive and accessible so everyone can join in. In our groups, participants play drama games, work with scripts and devise their own shows, which they perform at the end of term.

In Watford, Herts Inclusive Theatre run Ignite Watford for ages 12-18. We are looking for volunteers to support the running of this youth group.

When: Mondays 6:15-7:45pm

Where: Watford Palace Theatre, 20 Clarendon Road, Watford, WD17 1JZ

The building is fully accessible, with lift access to all spaces and disabled toilets.

Volunteers must be 18+, but don't need to have previous experience - we will give you all the training you need!

Getting there

There's several different options for parking if you're coming by car. We suggest using Sutton Car Park (WD17 2PS) on Estcourt Road, which is less than a 5-minute walk away. Please be aware the lift's are currently out of order so may not be suitable for some patrons. You can also use Charter car park (WD17 2UB), which is part of the Atria Watford shopping centre (not to be confused with the Palace carpark: nothing to do with us, honest!). Charter car park is on the right-hand side, as if you were parking for the cinema. It's just round the corner from us and also less than a 5-minute walk away. You might also want to try Gade (WD18 0JX) or Church (WD18 0JD) car parks. All of the car parks above have disabled parking available. Please note: Charter car park has a dual entrance with the Palace car park. The Palace car park is NOT open 24 hours and does NOT have step-free access.

Herts Inclusive Theatre (HIT) use the arts and wellbeing practices to build confidence, develop skills and give participants and their families memorable, enjoyable life experiences where everyone is encouraged, valued, supported and has their part to play.

Led by experienced practitioners, our workshops are open to all and are especially welcoming to those with special needs. We run termly theatre workshops across Hertfordshire and North London, as well as creative activities during the holiday periods. Through these activities we break down barriers about disability, encouraging participants to work together on an equal level and without prejudice.
