Casting Operative

A well established and highly successful engineering company based in Medway Towns is looking to recruit a Castings Operative within their main factory initially on a temporary basis. This is a manual role with training provided. There is a permanent opportunity for the right candidate after short qualifying period.

You will be responsible for the production of aluminium castings, including melt preparation, manual pouring of molten aluminium, washout, and knock-out processes.

You will be working Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 16:30, 40 hours per week, 12.86 per hour.

Overtime is also available at an enhanced rate.

• Preparing materials and moulds for casting
• Pouring molten aluminium into ceramic moulds
• Moving moulds through the casting process
• Cleaning moulds after casting
• Manual handling
• Maintain and clean plant and equipment as required
• Completing basic production records via touch screen systems

• Manufacturing or production experience preferred (not essential)
• Physically fit as lifting will be involved and comfortable with manual work
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Willing to learn new skills
