Ganger

VGC Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Ganger to join a project based in OX18, Oxford.

This is a great opportunity for a reliable and hard-working Ganger looking for work, with consistent weekday hours and the potential for weekend work.

We are looking for someone who can start promptly, lead a small team effectively, and support site operations to help keep the project running safely and efficiently.

Pay Rate: £20.24 per hour PAYE

As a Ganger on site, your responsibilities may include:

• Supervising and coordinating a small team of operatives on site
• Allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is carried out to programme
• Leading by example and maintaining high standards of work and safety
• Liaising with site management and other trades
• Assisting with hands-on duties where required
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations
• Managing materials, tools, and equipment efficiently
• Supporting site set-up and general operations as needed

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A valid CSCS Card (Gold or above preferred)
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
• Previous experience working as a Ganger or in a supervisory role within construction
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A good work ethic and positive attitude
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good punctuality and reliability

It would be beneficial if you also hold:

• CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (e.g. Dumper, Roller)
• First Aid at Work certification
• Manual Handling or other relevant site safety training
