Our client, a prominent educational institution located in Harrow, London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. To be considered for this role, you must hold a relevant educational qualification, such as a degree in Education or a related field, and have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the national curriculum, a proven track record of supporting student learning, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development
- Assist with the planning and preparation of lesson materials, ensuring resources are available and organised
- Collaborate with teachers to implement differentiated learning strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
- Offer guidance and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Provide support during school events, trips, and extracurricular activities as needed
- A relevant educational qualification, such as a degree in Education or a related field
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- A strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
- Proficient in the use of technology and digital resources to support student learning
