We are a well-established and forward-thinking law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Risk & Compliance Assistant to support our compliance function.

The Role:

As a Risk & Compliance Assistant, you will play a key supporting role in ensuring the firm adheres to all regulatory and legal requirements. Working closely with senior compliance professionals, you will assist in maintaining effective risk management processes and promoting a culture of compliance across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the monitoring of compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies
• Supporting file reviews and internal compliance audits
• Carrying out AML, KYC, and client due diligence checks
• Assisting with conflict checks and onboarding processes
• Maintaining accurate compliance records and registers
• Supporting the investigation of compliance breaches and incidents
• Assisting in the preparation of compliance reports
• Acting as a first point of contact for basic compliance queries

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a compliance, legal administration, or risk-based role within a law firm (preferred)
• Understanding of SRA regulations and legal compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with AML and GDPR requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Desirable:

• Experience supporting a Risk & Compliance team or function
• Relevant legal or compliance-related qualifications or training
