Job Description

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to recent projects won they now require an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join their busy North East facility.

The Role
  • Assist the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer with all electrical aspects of commissioning and implement the commissioning plan.
  • Resolve electrical issues that may arise during the commissioning of equipment.
  • Follow the electrical aspect LOTO procedures.
  • Record customer feedback on equipment performance, use this information to improve performance.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to safety management systems standards.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships between the company and client/site/supplier representatives. Participate in knowledge sharing activities to ensure the progression and development of all team members. Participate in training and development programs as required.
  • Ensure the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary equipment performance in accordance with project schedule requirements.
The Person
  • Have a broad scope of electrical engineering knowledge and practices.
  • Be able to complete hands on tasks where qualified and required.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, personal/departmental and company.
  • Time served electrical engineering background.
  • Basic hydraulic/mechanical knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Be able to read and understand electrical schematics/drawings to a basic standard.
  • Be competent in the use of all Microsoft Office products.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to work away from home for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to fault find and suggest temporary/permanent solutions on site.
  • Understand the risks when working with electrical systems connected to high pressure, complex hydraulic machines.
  • Have an understanding how the electrical system integrates with the hydraulic/mechanical and software aspects of the system.
  • Understanding of permit to work procedures.
  • Ability to work safely at heights.
  • Powered access licenses preferable.
