Operations Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Peterlee for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring production runs efficiently, targets are met, and high standards of quality and safety are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved
• Plan and coordinate workloads, resources, and schedules to support efficient production
• Lead and manage supervisors and shop floor teams, ensuring performance standards are met
• Monitor production output, quality, and efficiency, taking action where required
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, productivity, and workflow
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth coordination from design through to delivery
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and quality standards
• Act as a point of contact for customers, providing updates and resolving operational issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager or similar role within manufacturing
• Strong understanding of production processes, planning, and scheduling
• Experience working with pressed metal is essential
• Experience managing teams within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects effectively
• Hands-on approach with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and customers
