Key Responsibilities Offline CNC programming of components on 3, 4 and 5 axis machines using CAM software Responsible for selecting efficient tooling packages for each component Work with tooling manufacturers to introduce the latest tooling technology and strategies to the business Develop machining strategies for cutting various materials such as aluminium and titanium Creating process booklets and work instructions for machine set up and tool assembly Design fixtures and work holding devices for components Update ERP systems with all relevant information for each component Work closely with Production and Quality departments to improve current manufacturing methods, driving down machining and labour costs Aid Marketing and Sales teams by designing manufacturing concepts for potential projects and assisting with quotations Liaise with external programming sub contractors to deliver programs on time and within customer specification Essential Criteria Third level engineering or related qualification Experience in the use of CAM software, for example Mastercam or similar Knowledge of CNC machining strategies and processes Desirable Experience in the manufacture of hard metals Experience using various NC languages, for example Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain etc Salary is dependant upon experience and in the region of £45-50k.
