Conveyancer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, North East England

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

The role of the Conveyancer involves managing the legal aspects of property transactions, ensuring that transfers of ownership are carried out efficiently, accurately and in compliance with relevant legislation. The Conveyancer works closely with clients, property agents, mortgage providers and other legal professionals to facilitate the sale, purchase or remortgage of residential or commercial properties.

• Conduct thorough property searches, including local authority, environmental and water searches, to identify any issues affecting the property.
• Prepare and review contracts, transfer deeds and other legal documentation related to property transactions.
• Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and provide regular updates on transaction progress.
• Coordinate with mortgage lenders, surveyors, estate agents and other stakeholders to ensure smooth completion of transactions.
• Carry out title investigations and resolve any issues relating to ownership, boundaries or restrictions.
• Calculate financial figures such as stamp duty land tax and ensure all monies are accounted for and transferred securely.
• Manage the exchange of contracts and completion processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and legal obligations fulfilled.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to relevant legislation and professional standards, including anti-money laundering regulations.
• Provide clear and professional advice to clients regarding their property transactions.
