Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a number of Assembly Technicians to join a fast-growing engineering and manufacturing customer of ours in Surrey.

Initially on a 2 month fixed-term-contract, this is a hands-on role supporting the build and assembly of the company s pioneering, clean-technology product.

Main Duties

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components in line with detailed engineering instructions
  • Support production builds and assist with kitting parts for assembly
  • Maintain high quality standards, ensuring component traceability and minimal rework
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly issues to keep production on schedule
  • Accurately record assembly processes, including any deviations or modifications
  • Follow health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace

Technical Prerequisites

  • Background in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
  • Ideally experience within automotive (or similar sectors such as aerospace, motorsport, or commercial vehicles) not essential
  • Alternatively, a vehicle technician background would be considered
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D) and assembly instructions
  • Strong hands-on skills with good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
  • Awareness of health & safety and use of PPE

Desirable:

  • Electrical harnessing experience (LV/HV)
  • Experience within a production or prototype assembly environment
  • Forklift licence

Hours / Package

  • Location: Surrey (near M25)
  • Salary: £32,000 (pro rata)
  • Contract: Initially fixed-term (2 months)
