About The Role: Shift Pattern: 5 in 7, 1 in 3 weekends Please note: This is a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential to go permanent We are seeking a skilled and reliable Multi Skilled Engineer to join our facilities team at the Birmingham SEA LIFE Centre. This is a hands on role responsible for maintaining a wide range of engineering systems across the site, ensuring the attraction operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards for both guest facing exhibits and back of house operations. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a variety of engineering systems. Respond promptly to breakdowns, faults, and reactive maintenance issues. Undertake repairs, installations, and minor project works within your skillset. Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new equipment and exhibits. Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and industry standards. Work collaboratively with the wider Facilities, Technical, and Operations teams to support site performance. Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections undertaken, and materials used. Participate in a shift rota, including weekends and occasional out of hours or emergency call outs. Requirements A recognised technical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in an engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or similar. Proven experience working in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment is desirable. Ability to carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs across multiple systems. A strong understanding of health and safety best practice. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team. Good communication, organisation, and time management skills. Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends. Desirable Experience working in a leisure, hospitality, or visitor attraction environment. Multi disciplinary engineering experience (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fabric). Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) or control systems.
