You'll play a leading role in the development, integration, and delivery of UK Biobank's Automated Output Checking SSystem,helping shape a platform that supports secure research at a global scale. Working closely with architects, researchers, vendors, and internal engineering teams, you'll help design and build scalable integrations across research platforms and cloud-native services. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and modern platform design, requiring someone who can work confidently across backend services, frontend applications, infrastructure, APIs, and cloud environments. The solution applies AI techniques, follows cloud-native principles, and is being built from the ground up giving you the opportunity to influence both architecture and technical direction. You will be responsible for: Ensuring integration patterns align with enterprise architecture principles, including event-driven, API-first, and microservices-based approaches. Designing and developing scalable, secure, cost-efficient and maintainable full-stack applications using Python (backend) and TypeScript (frontend), including relational and non-relational database management systems on AWS.
