Senior DevOps Consultant - Contract Remote (occasional travel to Leeds - 1-2 days per month) 470 per day inside IR35 Clearance: BPSS 3 months rolling We are currently seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Consultant to support the recovery and delivery of a critical digital programme. This role will focus on revitalising a stalled project through a structured, outcome-driven approach. Role Overview The engagement will follow a two-phase delivery model: Phase 1 - Discovery & Validation (Initial 4 weeks): Conduct a comprehensive audit of technical debt Align stakeholders and assess governance and compliance gaps Review platform security and operational setup Develop a roadmap for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Phase 2 - Recovery & Delivery Plan: Present a clear recovery strategy outlining what to stop, start, and continue Drive technical readiness for Beta assessment Prioritise API development using a risk-based approach Establish a sustainable operating model for long-term delivery Key Responsibilities Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines Enhance platform observability and monitoring Drive secure, scalable cloud platform delivery Ensure environments meet compliance and governance standards Required Skills & Experience Strong experience with Azure DevOps at scale Expertise in Terraform , Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Key Vault, and networking (Private Endpoints) Proven background in cloud security, CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation Experience delivering within secure and regulated environments (e.g. government / healthcare) Success Criteria Delivery of a secure, scalable platform aligned to government and GDPR standards Strong data integrity and security controls Performance readiness for public Beta at scale Accessibility compliance aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA standards
