Onsite Birmingham (full-time presence required)
We are seeking a skilled VMware Consultant to join a major enterprise programme based on-site in Birmingham. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure platform stability across a complex virtualised environment. Where possible, you will also contribute as part of a wider team supporting large-scale transformation and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support a highly available VMware-based cloud infrastructure
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and security across production environments
- Provide operational support and incident resolution within agreed SLAs
- Collaborate with wider engineering and operations teams on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Support automation and optimisation initiatives across the platform
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring, logging, and network operations

- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
- vSphere, vCenter, ESXi
- NSX (including DFW/vDefend)
- Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) concepts
- VMware HCX
- AVI/NSX Advanced Load Balancer
- VMware Aria Operations (Ops for Logs & Ops for Network)
- VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS)/infrastructure automation
- Veeam Backup & Recovery
Clearance Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to undergo UK security clearance. The clearance process can take a couple of weeks to complete, so candidates should be comfortable with this timeframe and able to commence once clearance has been successfully obtained. Applicants must also be committed to the full duration of the programme.
