Role: Pastry Chef de Partie Location: Devon Salary / Rate of pay: £13 - £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience) Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a family owned, luxury 4 star hotel on the South Devon coast and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join their team, catering for their 2 AA Rosette-awarded restaurant. Our client is a family-run, 4-star luxury coastal hotel in Devon with enviable sea views. This beautiful property boasts a 2 AA Rosette fine dining main restaurant serving breakfast and dinner to hotel residents each day. The menu for the fine dining restaurant changes daily with a weekly rotation, but also includes daily specials too. In addition to this, the hotel has a terrace bar and poolside bistro which offer lunch and afternoon tea respectively. Pastry plays an important part in each of our dining offerings. The kitchen team is passionate about creating memorable experiences for their guests using fresh, locally sourced produce which is a proud feature of the hotel. The menu mixes classic dishes alongside new modern favourites and the hotel is looking for a like-minded Pastry Chef de Partie with previous pastry experience, who can work closely with the existing team, to continue to deliver the high level of service expected. What's involved? As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will work as part of a well-established and passionate kitchen team. Our client is looking for someone with the same passion for delivering high-quality dishes and the drive to succeed and progress in their career. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes from our pastry section, as well as overseeing the daily running of the pastry and bakery section. You will prepare a wide variety of baked goods such as bread and cakes using fresh ingredients, following recipes along the way and then decorating the final product, whilst helping the team in develop and create new items and desserts for the pastry kitchen, ensuring that you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety at all times. The successful candidate will have previous hotel experience; ideally to 2 Rosette standard or equivalent, be passionate about delivering guests a high-quality, memorable dining experience, whilst also being driven to progress within the pastry team. You will have previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or be a strong Commis Pastry Chef, looking to make the next step in their career. Staff live in accommodation is available if required, and is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel, should you not drive. Sound like the role for you?
