Our client, a reputable commercial workshop in the Exeter area, is actively seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a solid background in heavy and light commercial vehicle maintenance and repair. Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Conduct diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on heavy and light commercial vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and prechecks
  • Assist with breakdown cover and mobile service requirements
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety compliance
  • Complete accurate service and repair documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient job completion
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, with a minimum of 2 years within a commercial workshop or as a Mobile HGV Technician
  • Strong diagnostic skills and comprehensive knowledge of HGV systems
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and prechecks effectively
  • Flexibility to undertake mobile breakdowns and workshop duties
  • Valid UK driving licence; class 1 or 2 licence is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
