Role Description: As an engineer within the Warship Technical Authority, you will provide engineering support to programmes and projects within Warship Support. Such programmes/projects include Royal Navy surface ship support contracts, International naval support contracts, and internal and external engineering consultancy projects. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of one or more of the core WTA service elements for platform systems. This can include Design Change Management , Platform Technical Assurance, Material State Management , Obsolescence Management , Specialist Engineering Support, Future Support and Transformation Planning. As part of the Electrical Discipline, you will support technical leadership within your project, assist with governance activities and provide electrical engineering knowledge to platform systems engineering activities within the WTA. Core Duties: Provide electrical engineering support to a broad range of platform systems and equipment including but not limited to: Power generation and distribution systems, Power conversion equipment, Motors and motor control equipment, Detection systems and lighting systems. Provide support to Platform management and monitoring systems. Assist with the maintenance of platform systems and equipment design integrity across diverse engineering contexts, including pan class and cross programme deployments. Support structured investigations, impact assessments and integration analyses across platform systems for assigned projects to drive evidence-based decisions as directed by project(s) technical lead (s). Support feasibility studies into potential platform and equipment changes. Support safe, efficient implementation of platform systems design change by maintaining configuration control and ensuring holistic integration across affected domains. Support development of bids for engineering activities Essential Skills: Degree-level education or equivalent industry experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of technical concepts and their practical application Able to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team considering all requirements. Able to successfully communicate with various stakeholders at appropriate technical level. The BAE Systems WTA Service Hub BAE Systems WTA Service Hub provides the engineering services across a whole range of delivery projects within BAE Systems Maritime and Land Defence Solutions. This role will involve working across a number of Royal Navy platforms and interacting with a variety of different stakeholders from OEMs to MOD departments.
