A South London local authority is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer to join its dedicated Housing team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a key frontline role focused on helping households move out of temporary accommodation and into secure, settled housing. You will work directly with households in temporary accommodation to understand their individual move-on needs, identify and overcome barriers, and support them through the transition into suitable settled accommodation in line with legal housing duties. A core part of the role involves working closely with Lettings Negotiators to ensure the right properties are identified and effectively matched to households, maximising the use of available housing stock and ensuring no properties go unused. You will also play an important role in setting clear and realistic expectations for households around their move-on journey, helping them understand the most likely routes into settled accommodation and the actions required to achieve this. In addition, you will signpost residents to relevant support services, including benefits advice, debt support, and wider welfare assistance, ensuring they are fully prepared to sustain their future tenancy. We are currently working with a local authority who are seeking an experienced Lettings Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with experience in social housing lettings and allocations to support the delivery of an efficient voids and lettings service. Key Responsibilities of a Lettings Officer: Manage the end-to-end lettings process for vacant properties. Advertise properties and allocate homes in line with housing policies and nomination agreements. Conduct applicant assessments and verify eligibility for housing. Liaise with local authorities, applicants, and internal teams to progress lettings. Arrange and conduct property viewings where required. Make offers of accommodation and complete tenancy sign-ups. Ensure void properties are re-let within target timescales. Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems. Monitor performance against lettings and void turnaround targets. This is a part-time, fully remote role running for an initial 3-month period, with an immediate start required. This is a hands-on opportunity for a recruitment professional who can quickly take ownership of live vacancies and drive processes through to completion. You'll play a key role in clearing an existing recruitment backlog, ensuring continuity and momentum across hiring activity.
