Job Description

Our client, a well-established automotive accident repair centre in Cheltenham, is actively seeking a qualified Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their team.

This Vehicle Damage Assessor position offers a significant opportunity for an experienced professional to develop their career within a reputable organisation. The Vehicle Damage Assessor will be responsible for delivering accurate estimates, coordinating repairs, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

  • Standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Duties as a Vehicle Damage Assessor:

  • The Vehicle Damage Assessor will prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently, ensuring compliance with manufacturer, insurer, and customer specifications
  • Maintain detailed records of all estimates, verifying that work without prior authorised approval is flagged and addressed appropriately
  • Seek authorisation before starting any work not automatically approved, then manage subsequent communication
  • The Vehicle Damage Assessor will liaise with bodyshop personnel to ensure full understanding of the work scope as per estimates
  • Manage cases where vehicles are deemed total losses, liaising with insurers and bodyshop teams accordingly
  • Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies relevant to the role and environment
  • Uphold high standards of customer care and satisfaction through accurate and timely assessments

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in vehicle estimating, with Audatex qualification or training highly desirable
  • Strong background in automotive accident repair with transferable skills considered
  • ATA accreditation or manufacturer-approved training is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided
  • Valid UK driving licence with minimal penalty points
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
