About the Role: As a DT Technician , your responsibilities will include: Preparing, setting up, and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons across various areas of DT (e.g. resistant materials, product design, electronics, and graphics). Supporting teachers during lessons, demonstrating techniques, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed. Maintaining and servicing machinery and tools, managing stock levels, and ensuring a clean, safe working environment. Assisting in the development of teaching aids and classroom displays. Supporting students during practical tasks, under the direction and supervision of the class teacher. Ensuring all safety checks, COSHH requirements, and risk assessments are up to date and adhered to. What We're Looking For: Previous experience as a DT Technician or a background in a similar workshop-based role (e.g. carpentry, engineering, fabrication) OR a qualification in design, engineering, or a related field. Sound knowledge of tools, machinery, and materials used in a secondary DT setting. A strong understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop or school environment. Organised, reliable, and proactive with good communication skills. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
