HGV / PSV Technician
Location: Sunderland
Salary: Typical Earnings Circa 39,000 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week 5 Days Over 7

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
  • Complete safety inspections in line with DVSA and company standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and annual test inspections.
  • Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns when required.
  • Complete all workshop documentation accurately.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards.
  • Work effectively within a team to maximise fleet availability.

Requirements of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV, Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining HGVs, PSVs, buses, coaches, trucks, or commercial vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Good understanding of vehicle electrics, braking, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
