Embed the Self-Directed Learning philosophy into lesson planning and delivery. Mentor students in either the Lower or Upper school. Provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom, including enrichment activities. Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the leadership team. General Duties: Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider vision of the school. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role. Adhere to all school policies, including those related to health & safety and data protection. Engage in ongoing professional development and performance appraisal. Safeguarding Commitment: The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Person Specification: Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Recent experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4. Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications. Strong communication and organisational skills. Commitment to safeguarding and forming appropriate relationships with students. Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to work. Desirable: Experience supporting SEN pupils. Participation in recent professional development. Willingness to undertake further training and CPD.
